Calendar

I am NOT in New Orleans.. that particular joy is likley to be wednesday to saturday instead. So I was in the office finishing off the tasks nearly completed over the weekend. Hey I am not dreading coming in cos of the workload. so I am glad did the weekend work.

I've looked at the calendar today and realised I only have 10 days until I go home for xmas. (do you call it xmas over here)? Realised I am really looking forward to it imensly. A chance to feel properly at home and relaxed. also I am missing my own car. I mean my F150 out here is nice and all but my Peugeot 206 is sitting in a drive way in kent pining for me..

I went to run today and didn't go as far as I had hoped.. but I noticed my MP3 player was playing up.. YES! I thought an excuse to get a new one.. but I just tested it on another set of head phones, and it was fine.. *grumbles*

well I had better nip off for some xmas wrapping paper. Could someone answer a question I have.. what is the holidays period? thanksgiving + Xmas + new year with the other festivals such as Chanuka inbetween? I was just wondering cos we don't think about it in the same way.

Yay!

Thanks Giving was good. An enjoyable day. ate things I have never eaten before. like I found out that pumpkin pie was a dessert and not a side dish. I also found out that yams are sweet potatoes. I drank loads and played board games for hours. It was a good day. BUT the bad side of the day was my I lost my apparentment keys and had to search for a locksmith who was working that day of all days to let me in. I waited about 2 hours to get inside, and spend most of it on the phone to mates in the UK. another down side was I should have run 3 miles on thanksgiving after the 3rd glass of wine, I knew this was never going to happen.

Yesterday I ran 3 miles and it felt really good. OK the rest of the day was slobby, and I ended up sitting infront of the PC working on my website wich after deciding I needed to see some progress is now semi-live. ie not a single link is up.

Today I have already run 7 miles (which nearly killed me) now I am either supposed to either work on a report urgently for monday or go shopping. I know what I want to do but thats not the point

Welcome to Thanks Giving

It's the Eve of Thanks Giving.

I think more so than ever, I feel less at home. 4 days with no work which is great, but in reality that means 1 day of Thanks Giving meal with a friend and 1 day of shopping and 2 days of report writing cos missing out 2 days of work is a problem.

Hey thinking about it that doesn't sound too unlike what I hear others do over here. I guess mostly I miss family and friends more cos there is more time to think about them. I wonder how much more fun this trip would be with mates from London around. Ach there's not much longer to go 3 months maybe.

On another note I started getting training emails from Houston marathon last monday. So after 3 weeks break (ok if you ignore that one run it works out to 6 weeks break) I am back on the treadmill. It was quite hard on monday but getting easier already.

Right I have recieved a HUGE letter filled with little letters to read so fair thee well

Shaun of the Dead

I saw Shaun of the dead on sunday. I've been trying to ages. when it came out in the UK, I was in Norway. and by the time I got back it had left and people were waiting for the DVD to come out. Now I am in the US, the movie has finaly come out at the cinema. I was chuffed with it. OK I dont think it was as good as the same amount of time watching spaced. but some great moments amd presumably more effects. I cant wait for it to come out on DVD for the bonus material. OK i remember what I just wrote about bonus material.. but in this case I can hope can't I!!!

I was expecially glad to see a couple of friends in the show.. I shant tell you who they were, and one you'd not know anyway. but it was good to see them and infact made me quite homesick. It seemed that the other viewers found some funny moments which I didn't and Vise versa. I ended up laughing on my own in a full room. very odd.. perhaps (I hope)it was british humour that I was picking up on, that they missed. I knew the audience were not brits as they all were wearing bandana's or well fitted baseball caps.. something I think we fail at.. not that it's gonna effect me excessivly..
